Betrayal

Betrayal is like a bitter pill

Taken not to chill

Which creates a gap in you

Like the lowland beneath a hill

That you cannot fill

Even if you were not ill

With an increased cry from your soul

For a will,

Tears run down on your cheeks

Like a rill

And as your heart registers the betrayal as a sill,

Your conscience causing it might reduce you to nil

But friends causing it can kill

As if you are hanged with a mill

Driven to the sea at will.

Only your heart and conscience can connive

To make you recover from swallowing such untoward dill.
